Dop and Igp, the turnover rewards the quality

Rome - They have been pulled to the Hall of the Taste of Turin the sums on the picture of the productions to denomination in Italy. To the state it puts into effect them the products recognized Italian Dop and Igp to communitarian level - they make to know from the ministry for the agricultural Policies, alimentary and forest are 173 (113 Dop and 60 IGP). The turnover total, with a value to the production, is of 4,6 billions of euro (nearly 9 billions of euro to the consumption). At the same time the products vegetables represent 32% of the recordings Dop and Igp, while the oils of olive 22%. They follow cheeses, with 20% of the total, and the meats prepared with 17%. The first ten products represent 85% of the certifyd national production, with a turnover nearly 4 billions of euro: Grana Padano, Prosciutto of Parma, Parmiggiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di San Daniele, Mozzarella di Bufala, Gorgonzola, Mortadella of Bologna, Bresaola of the Valtellina, Mela Val di Non, Pecorino Romano. The exports of Italian Dop and Igp pile instead nearly 996 million euro, 35% of which obtained on markets extra-UE. It comes moreover marked that the products to Docg denomination - Doc and Igt are 476 (40 Docg, 316 Doc, 120 Igt): In the 2007 they have been produced approximately 14 mln of Hl di Doc and Docg; The turnover of the Doc, Docg and Igt is of approximately 9 billions of euro. It is added moreover that exports Vpqrd the wine record a turnover of approximately 1,3 billions of euro. The traditional products recognized (Decree Ministerial 18/07/2000 of the Mipaaf are beyond 4.300).

* The number of DOP and IGP indicated in this table turns out advanced to the data of 113 products DOP and 60 IGP brought back previously (for a total of 173), because in many cases a product DOP or IGP is present in various regions. As an example, Po Grain DOP is present in Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Piemonte and Veneto, beyond that in the independent province of Trento. The mortadella of Bologna, an IGP, is present in Emilia Romagna, Piemonte, Lombardy, Veneto, Marches, Lazio, Tuscany and in the independent province of Trento.
