Fruit in the schools: to Italy beyond 9 million euro

Rome - “Particularly happy of being able to give to the news of the approval of a program aimed for the young people and that Italy has supported. To improve the health today and the alimentary of the citizens, as from objective of the plan “Fruit in the schools” approved of, is in the priority that me is prefixed and for which I have asked opportunely to maintain the delegation to the alimentary policies”. The minister of the alimentary and forest Policies Luca Zaia has thus commented the approval from the Council of Ministers of Agriculture Ue, happened little hours ago to Brussels, of the plan “Fruit in the schools”. For this purpose, at Italy, has been destined an appropriation of 9 million and half of euro. Between the main objectives of the program: to favor the consumption of fruit and verdura between the young generations, to supply good alimentary habits to the children and to improve the yields of our agriculturists. Three “Fruit in the schools” is made of the program, destined to 2.710.492 Italian children is:

1. Distribution of fruit and verdura fresh and transformed in the schools;

2. Connected costs (logistic, distribution, equipment);

3. Measures of accompanyment, that they have the task to render the implementation of the program in the Member States effective.
